Attractive Stainless Steel, moderately easy to make a beverage. |
Slow to produce more that one beverage- guests must wait, and wait and wait. Beverage temperature is lukewarm, I generally pop it into the microwave to heat it up before drinking. Pitiful customer/warranty service from Cuisinart. |
I purchased this machine in an attempt to curb my Starbux bill. While it works okaaaay, I generally have to warm up the coffee before I drink it in the microwave. Also, if I am trying to serve multiple drinks for myself and guests, the first drink in ice cold before the second drink is ready for the other person. Lots of water is spewed from the bottom of the machine into the lower ss tray on the bottom- if not removed and cleaned and dried each time, the ss pits and rusts (so much for good quality ss). The steamer wand often produces more hot water in the frothing cup that just steam and dilutes the cream. But what really is disappointing is the quality of the materials, and Cuisinart's refusal to stand behind the quality of their materials. Example: It is difficult to clean the steamer wand the way it is designed. In order to clean it effectively you need to remove the ss sleeve that is held in place by a rubber grommet. Over time/multiple cleanings mean removing and reinstalling the ss sleeve on the frothing wand repeatedly. This process has caused the rubber grommet that holds the sleeve onto the wand to tear and it no longer holds the wand sleeve in place. The frother doesn't work effectively w/o the sleeve. I contacted Cuisinart to order a new rubber grommet (should cost them $1.00 at the most). They were unwilling to sell me the grommet- called it a handle- and suggested that I send in the machine to them, at my expense, for them to repair it. At this point I think my machine would be more damaged in the transit to be repaired. I am frustrated that Cuisinart refused to sell me, or provide to me, a $1 part for the $200 machine I purchased from them. Will never purchase another Cuisinart product. |
Simple transaction- they took my money, I took home the machine. |
